For coffee #2 of your Cafés Advent Calendar, we present beans grown on bicentennial plantations in the volcanic lands of Costa Rica.

Alejo Castro is from the 5th generation of a renowned and pioneering family in the world of coffee. Their farm has produced over the years, thanks to the highly fertile volcanic soil, coffees that have won awards in Costa Rica.

This coffee roasted by 94 Celcius is of a rarer variety specific to the region, the San Isidro which is a cross between two other varieties, the Villa Sarchi and the Timor. In the cup, it offers notes of cherry liqueur, Gamay and raisins.
